A creative agency in Johannesburg seeks a skilled animator to generate original ideas for projects, manage multiple assignments, and enhance storytelling through motion graphics. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience with animation software. Disciplined and artistic with a firm grasp on animation techniques, fundamentals, and software.
Concept development and storyboard design which outlines the visual and animation sequence of the project.
Uses a combination of graphic design elements and animation techniques to create TV commercials and Digital Media which answers briefs and exceeds client expectations.
Be collaborative, knowledgeable, and reliable with a keen eye for detail and aesthetic.
Be adaptable, creative, and receptive to direction from client service and the creative team.
Be solutions driven and realistic when it comes to deadlines and what is achievable within time limits.

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES
In partnership with the creative team be able to generate original ideas and solutions to problems.
Take the designs, illustrations, storyboards from others and/or self-generated and bring them to life.
Complete a project from start to finish which encompasses all production components such as voice recordings, animation, music, sound design/final mix audio, including station delivery.
Composite visual effects into footage to enhance storytelling or create specific visual styles.
Use the latest software and employ other techniques to produce unique animations and motion graphics.
Strive for a high creative standard with attention to detail when presenting storyboards to client service and the creative team for internal review.
Use creativity and artistic techniques to tell a story or provide information in visual form.
Research industry trends and developments and learn new applications.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Aim for the highest level of craft achievable in the work at all times within time and communicate timings clearly and with reason when required.
Be able to understand the nature of client's or brand's communication problems and solve them.
Participate in team meetings, brainstorms and offer expert solutions in the field of motion graphics.
Participate in and be a driver of culture within the agency and create interest in the field of motion graphics.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Strong personal time management skills required to ensure the delivery of work in time to meet and even exceed client expectations.
Communicate clearly and early, whenever timings on jobs need to be adjusted, to the delivery team.
COMMERCIAL AWARENESS
Understand the client's marketing and business goals and come up with creative solutions to these.
Be aware of cost and time constraints on jobs and be able to ensure work stays within these.
CREATIVE JUDGMENT
Focus on a brief and fully understand what is required to identify creative and proactive opportunities.
Research current digital, animation and design trends and use them with relevance to creativity. Work must be aesthetically pleasing and technically accurate in execution and align with the concept.

Defends ideas and supports creative and client service teams in building rationales.
