Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking a dedicated Montessori Educator to lead the Toddler Program. You will guide 18-month to 3-year-olds through hands-on Montessori activities, fostering independence, social and emotional growth, and language development.

This on-site role emphasizes observation, parent communication, and a warm, nurturing classroom. The ideal candidate has Montessori certification for early childhood, at least 3 years of toddler experience, and a calm, patient teaching style

Qualifications

• Montessori certification for Early Childhood or Toddler levels (AMI, AMS).
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with toddlers in a Montessori setting.
• Deep understanding and practical application of the Montessori philosophy.
• Excellent observation skills and ability to document child development.
• Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to childcare.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective parent partnerships.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Ability to create a calm and organized learning environment.
• Must be available for full-time, on-site work in Bloemfontein.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a child-safe and aesthetically pleasing Montessori environment for toddlers (ages 18 months to 3 years).
• Guide children in using Montessori materials, fostering self-directed learning and exploration.
• Observe children closely to understand their individual needs and developmental progress.
• Facilitate practical life activities, sensory exploration, and language development.
• Encourage social interaction, empathy, and cooperation among toddlers.
• Manage classroom routines, including snack times, napping, and hygiene.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents about their child's development and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
• Attend professional development workshops and staff meetings.
