BACKGROUND
Herding for Health, a partnership programme between Conservation International (CI) and Peace Parks Foundation, seeks to recruit a new team member to drive impact monitoring across all Herding for Health sites managed under CI, Peace Parks Foundation, and partners. The Herding for Health Impact Coordinator will provide technical support to implement comprehensive M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) systems, tools, and methods that monitor and assess progress towards programmatic and organizational goals. The role involves providing timely and relevant information to stakeholders and decision-makers, informing strategic and resource-allocation decisions, and improving monitoring and communication. Aligning the Herding for Health database with donor indicators across all sites is essential to centralize data management and prevent duplication in impact reporting.

JOB PURPOSE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (15%) :
- Ensure the Herding for Health programme has a robust results and monitoring framework aligned with strategic priorities, learning needs, and partner reporting requirements (donors, implementing partners, etc.)
- Maintain and communicate an updated dashboard of consolidated Herding for Health impact for all sites.
- Coordinate performance monitoring for all Herding for Health sites within the Programme.
- Oversee continuous monitoring of programmatic and site-level performance in coordination with other Herding for Health teams.
- Work with GIS and M&E teams to monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness and impact.
- Track progress against targets and benchmarks, providing regular updates to the Herding for Health Programme unit.
- Identify and address data discrepancies or issues affecting accuracy.
- Drive effective communication and utilization of performance information for programmatic management, risk analysis, and decision-making.
Data Collection and Management (35%) :
- Develop and implement standardized data collection methodologies and tools from various sources.
- Supervise deployment of spatial analysis tools, frameworks, business processes, and information systems supporting monitoring activities.
- Ensure smooth integration of these tools/systems within CI, Peace Parks Foundation, and partners’ monitoring platforms.
- Oversee timely and accurate data entry into the Peace Parks MEL system, ensuring data integrity through validation and quality control.
- Maintain a comprehensive and organized database, keeping an updated calendar of reporting deadlines.
Data Analysis, Interpretation, Reporting, and Visualization (30%) :
- Lead the development of Africa Rangeland Watch (ARW), a continental monitoring platform.
- Manage the technical development of the platform and support users.
- Ensure collaboration with other platforms like Earthranger.
- Conduct statistical analyses to identify trends and generate insights.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and infographics for stakeholder communication.
- Lead the design of the Herding for Health Impact Tracker webpage.
- Prepare reports and presentations to support reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Stay updated with data analytics trends and integrate new approaches.
- Promote data-driven decision-making within the Programme.
Evaluation, Learning, and Continuous Improvement (20%) :
- Build capacity through training, technical support, and promoting data literacy.
- Collaborate with M&E teams to share knowledge and improve practices.
- Develop evaluation plans and frameworks aligned with Herding for Health principles.
- Ensure evaluations are conducted with independence, transparency, and relevance.
- Assist in designing and implementing evaluation studies.
- Engage stakeholders throughout the evaluation cycle.
- Share knowledge via reports, publications, and presentations.
- Design and implement a learning approach, including agendas and dissemination strategies.
- Incorporate lessons into strategic and operational cycles.
- Maximize learning beyond Herding for Health through publications and events.
- Engage with professional networks and represent the Programme externally.
