Job summary

Anglo American is seeking a Training Officer Mining in the Northern Cape to coordinate and deliver practical and theoretical training on mobile and heavy mining equipment. You will assess learners, maintain records, and ensure adherence to MHSA and MQA standards.

Reporting to the Learning Delivery Supervisor, this role requires collaboration with engineering and operations to identify training needs and deliver compliant, high‑quality programs.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent SAQA-recognised qualification.
• Relevant ETDP Qualification at NQF Level 5 (e.g. National Certificate: ODETDP).
• Assessor Certification and/or MQA Assessor Registration in relevant discipline.
• Diploma in Education/ETD or related field (advantageous).
• Moderator certification/registration (advantageous).
• MQA registration as a Moderator (advantageous).
• SA Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide training and assessments for learners on mobile and HME equipment.
• Deliver safety, health and environment training and ensure zero-harm targets.
• Develop training matrices, materials, programs and assessments.
• Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions to develop learner competencies.
• Assess learners against legal authorisation standards and track progress.
• Maintain learner portfolios and training records per MHSA/MQA requirements.
• Liaise with discipline managers and engineering leaders to address training needs.
