Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer for its mining client in Rustenburg, North West. You will plan, execute, and supervise maintenance of heavy industrial electrical systems to ensure reliability and safety.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 3+ in mining. You will manage a team and coordinate safety-compliant maintenance with CMMS documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering (BEng/BSc).
• Minimum 5 years in electrical maintenance, 3+ in heavy industrial/mining.
• Experience leading a technical team.
• Proven fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and safety practices.
• Proficient with CMMS for maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement electrical maintenance plans for mining equipment.
• Diagnose and repair high/low voltage faults, motors, transformers, and panels.
• Ensure compliance with safety regs and mining standards.
• Lead and train maintenance electricians; supervise performance.
• Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Inspect and test new electrical installations and equipment.
• Collaborate with production to minimize downtime and improve availability.
• Support during planned shutdowns and project installations.
