Job summary

Ikwezi Mining is seeking an experienced and reliable 30-Ton Mobile Crane Operator to join our mining team. You will operate a 30-ton crane safely, lift and position heavy equipment, and perform daily pre-start inspections.

Work closely with riggers and supervisors, follow lifting procedures and load charts, ensure loads are secured, maintain safe distances, and comply with mine health and safety standards in a demanding shift environment. Willingness to work shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating a 30-ton mobile crane.
• Valid crane operator certification/competency.
• Good knowledge of safe lifting practices and crane operations.
• Ability to read and understand crane load charts.
• Experience with pre-start inspections and basic equipment checks.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Mining experience is advantageous, especially coal mining.
• Willingness to work shifts in a demanding mining environment.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 30-ton mobile crane safely and efficiently.
• Perform lifting and positioning of heavy mining equipment and materials.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report defects.
• Follow approved lifting procedures, load charts and manufacturer requirements.
• Work closely with riggers, banksmen and supervisors during lifting operations.
• Ensure loads are properly secured before lifting.
• Maintain safe working distances from personnel, vehicles and other equipment.
• Comply with mine health and safety procedures.
• Report hazards, incidents, equipment faults and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain good housekeeping around the crane and work area.
