Mineral Inspection Field Supervisor

Job summary

SGS is seeking an on-site Inspector to report on mineral commodity inspections and train field staff in sampling and inspection procedures. The role requires coordinating risk assessments, permits to work, PPE checks, and ensuring timely field reporting with photos and summaries uploaded to SharePoint.

The candidate should have Matric with Maths/Science, a post-matric qualification in sampling and inspection, and strong English language skills.

Qualifications

• Matric minimum; Maths and Science advantageous.
• Post-matric qualification in sampling/inspection services preferred.
• Proficiency in English (read, write, speak) required.

Responsibilities

• Train staff on site with regards to sampling and inspection.
• Administer risk assessments, permits to work, PPE hazard assessments, mini-risk assessments and check-statuses before inspections.
• Monitor field staff in terms of the efficiency of activities carried out.
• Check timesheets for Blu staff based on supervision of staff.
• Compile field reports, photographs and detailed summaries for all inspections and upload to SharePoint.
