SCOPE OF THE ROLE
- Onsite-based representative at customer sites within the specified region.
- Possess a strong and broad high-level knowledge of mining systems and mine safety deployed.
- Collaborate with the Area Site Supervisor / Account Manager to ensure efficient onsite support of mining safety systems.
- Provide site-based system support to customers and deploy new and upgraded systems at mine sites.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and configuration of system software and computer operating systems.
- Manage support tickets in the region in coordination with the Area Site Supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting to support onsite hardware needs.
- Read and understand hardware schematics, technical manuals, and procedural documentation.
- Support and maintain basic software, troubleshoot system issues.
- Execute onsite system installation efforts.
- Escalate support issues requiring input from other stakeholders, such as Mining Services or support teams.
- Regularly report support issues, including status updates and resolution methods.
- Use customer relationships to advise the Mining Services Team of potential issues and opportunities.
- Represent the company professionally, helpfully, and courteously at all times.
- Maintain and adhere to documentation, reporting standards, systems, and processes.
- Comply with Workplace Health and Safety policies, participate in audits, and follow safety instructions.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND
- Minimum high school diploma; higher technical trade qualifications are desirable.
- Previous experience as a site Hardware Technician is highly desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in the mining environment.
- At least 2 years of experience with Mine Safety Solutions is highly desirable.
- Experience working with onsite technical teams is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English.
TRAVEL
- This is an onsite position based at the client’s mine site.
- A vehicle will be provided for daily site activities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven hardware field service experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills when following instructions from the Site Area Supervisor.
- Experience applying technology in harsh industrial environments.
- Good analytical skills for quick problem diagnosis and excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in customer-oriented environments.
- Knowledge of general network infrastructure and configuration, with relevant technical experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with mining customers.
- Ability to work well independently and within a team.
