Job description

The hands-on servicing, installation, and commissioning of boilers, including Heavy and Light Fuel Oil, Gas, Coal, and electrically powered boilers.

POSITION INFO :

MILLWRIGHT

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the primary purpose of this position is the hands-on servicing, installation, and commissioning of boilers, such as Heavy and Light Fuel Oil, Gas, Coal, and electrical boilers. The successful candidate should be a good communicator, willing to travel regularly (locally and abroad), and prepared to work long hours.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Trade Certificate (Millwright / Electrical or Instrumentation / Electronics)
  • An unendorsed driver’s license
  • Diploma in Electronics / Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
  • Project Management certificate (advantageous)
  • Certified gas practitioner’s license (advantageous)
  • Wireman’s license (advantageous)
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of five years electrical or mechanical experience in an after-sales service environment, including Mechanical Fitting, Electrical, PLC Controls, Maintenance, Fault Finding, and Instrumentation
  • Ability to manage staff effectively
  • Experience with VSD installation, commissioning, and fault finding
  • Ability to interpret wiring and technical diagrams
  • Boiler servicing and commissioning experience (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, emails, and internet
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Stand-by duties covering mechanical and electrical services
  • Planned and breakdown maintenance (electrical and mechanical)
  • Stand-by and call-out duties
  • Installation and commissioning of new and second-hand boilers, burners, and auxiliary equipment
  • Supervise and manage all site work, being hands-on in the field and office
  • Communicate with clients and senior management regarding repairs and site improvements
  • Ensure data packs are updated and loaded onto the system
  • Ensure all site work complies with safety standards and company procedures; complete all necessary paperwork before work begins
  • Follow up on orders and obtain sign-off for invoicing
  • Manage OSH operations and related documentation
  • Ability to work away from home when required
