ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese-rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 percent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine, which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Millwright, you will be responsible for attending to breakdowns, conducting inspections, and executing maintenance tasks on open-cast equipment.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

1. Conduct inspections on equipment prior to commencement of maintenance work;
2. Execute all maintenance work in a safe manner;
3. Perform Medium Voltage Switching, lockouts, and make the work area safe;
4. Test and commission equipment prior to handover;
5. Identify and record all subsequent work found during the maintenance activity;
6. Reporting of events and non-conformances;

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Millwright in a mining environment;
• In-depth knowledge of inspection & repairs of pumps;
• In-depth knowledge of the workings of Jaw and Cone Crushers;
• Experience working on conveyor belts;
• In-depth knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems;
• In-depth understanding of motors, control systems, and other electrical systems;
• Experience fault finding and reading electrical line diagrams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12;
• N3 Technical Certificate;
• Millwright Trade Test;
• Valid driver’s license.
