About the Role :

The Millwright will be responsible to carry out repairs, maintenance and operations in a food manufacturing environment and to perform troubleshooting tasks on plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Ensure planned maintenance is carried out within BOP
  • Ensure unit standards are met
  • Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities
  • Provide continuous process support to the team
  • Trouble shooting and rectify faults occurring due to failure of mechanical equipment
  • Continuously monitor the working environment responsible area and identify / report any abnormalities
  • Plant and equipment inspection and defect reporting
  • Installation of equipment
  • Physically monitor and control the production process
  • Examine equipment and complete safety checklist
  • Report all at risk behaviors and unsafe conditions to the line manager
  • Comply to all OSH ACT requirements
  • Practice good housekeeping
  • Conduct visual inspections on the process and equipment
  • Install, serviceand repairlighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring
  • Operatepower hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment
  • Install, repairand service specialized electrical equipment and machinery
  • Installconductors, splices cable, builds terminations and does necessary hook-up for primary power lines
  • Inspectelectrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance
  • Installelectrical system components, such as lighting, alarms, electrical panels, switches, circuits, timers etc, for the purpose of providing enhanced and / or upgraded electrical capabilities

Qualifications, Skills & Experience :

Essential :

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experiencein the Food or FMCG industry
  • Matric and Trade Test
  • Artisan Minimum N3
  • Physically able
  • Take instructions / communicate in English
  • Willing to make a contribution as a member of the operations team
  • Essential services like boilers / compressors / air conditioning
  • Preferred :

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the maintenance of gearboxes, conveyors, and food processing equipment
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical field
