Qualifications

Job description

The purpose of the Millwright Foreman is to run the production and the maintenance in the Rendering Plant whilst on shift.

It is also to ensure production targets are met, to attend to unscheduled processing interruptions resulting from breakdowns, and to do routine maintenance on processing equipment, assist with new installation of rendering equipment, and to ensure budget targets are met and implement and drive 20 Keys.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a qualified Artisan
  • Minimum N4 qualification in mechanical and electrical theory
  • N6 Diploma Electrical and Wireman's certificate advantageous
  • PLC and VSD certificate
Experience:
  • Previous experience in electrical/repair of poultry processing and rendering plant equipment will be advantageous
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role
The ideal candidate would be responsible for:
  • Routine maintenance on all Rendering Plant equipment
  • Dealing with all unscheduled processing interruptions resulting from breakdowns
  • Full control of production processes and responsibility for maintaining production standards
  • Responsible for all labour-related issues, including ensuring that all positions are managed at all times
  • Dealing with all disciplinary matters appropriately and according to the company's disciplinary code
  • Continued interaction and communication with senior management
  • Maintaining and implementing the 20 Keys principles, including Health & Safety of the department
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • Computer literacy – MS Office
  • Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Fluent in English and a second official language
  • Have the ability to cope under pressure and manage staff professionally
  • Be hardworking, honest, and self-motivated
  • Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required
  • Must have reliable transport
