Job description

Astral, a leading South African integrated poultry producer, has a Millwright opportunity at County Fair, Primary Processing Plant Fisantekraal.

The primary focus of this position is to perform routine and scheduled maintenance in the plant.

Qualifications:

1. Millwright Trade Certificate (Section 13 and served apprenticeship)
2. Minimum N4 qualification in the relevant field
3. Wiremen's license will be advantageous
4. PLC and VSD certificate and experience will be advantageous
5. Previous experience in a FMCG environment
6. Computer literacy: basic MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook)
7. Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision
8. Willing to work shifts and overtime
9. Fluent in English and an additional official language
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
11. The ability to work in a highly pressurized environment
12. Must be deadline driven
13. Must have own reliable transport

Responsibilities:

1. Routine and scheduled maintenance in the plant
2. Attend to electrical and mechanical maintenance on machinery in the plant
3. Dismantle, move, assemble, install and align equipment and machinery
4. Ensure electrical reticulation is maintained in good working order
5. Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment
6. Fault finding and repairs in the plant
7. Repair basic electrical circuitry and components and testing of units to evaluate electrical and mechanical operation
8. New installations, modifications, upgrades and repairs to machinery and systems
9. Maintain plant and equipment in a safe and acceptable overall condition
10. Implementing of 20 Keys / HACCP / Risk Control and apply general housekeeping rules
