R 300,000 - R 360,000 Annually Basic Salary (Market related, Negotiable)

Our client based in Germiston is seeking a Millwright to join their team. Responsible for monitoring departmental compliance with HSE cardinal rules and reinforcing the department’s safety culture.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Health and Safety responsibilities.
• Monitor compliance with HSE cardinal rules and reinforce safety culture.
• Implement set SOPs.
• Report USACs, near misses, incidents, and injuries to the Line Manager and SHEQ.
• Inspect safety devices as per PM schedules and keep records (E/Stops, speed monitors, rope switches, Castell key units, etc.).
• Adhere to LOTO procedures before working on equipment.
• Follow and review risk assessment processes and inspections before shifts.
• Work closely with the SHEQ officer on safety measures.
• Follow and implement departmental baseline risk assessment recommendations.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Regularly check safety devices and keep proper records.
• Maintain lighting to meet legal illumination requirements through regular maintenance.
• Implement the 5S principle in the area of responsibility.
• Perform lubrication, cleaning, and repairs of tools, machines, and equipment.
• Attend to breakdowns and installations in real-time both on-site and off-site.
• Inspect and maintain piping, tanks, and other equipment.
• Carry out preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, fans, bearings, and conveyance systems.
• Ensure plant equipment integrity and electrical functionality at 97%.
• Ensure calibration of weighing equipment.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report on the same day.
• Assist in planning maintenance and repairs, including shutdowns.
• Manage spare parts with proper documentation.
• Inspect and service process equipment, laboratory, office spaces, and utilities.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures and ensure timely actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements:

• Trade Test Millwright/Electrical or related qualification.
• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing setup.
• Basic management and supervisory skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Competency in Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
