Job summary

Werfnet in South Africa is seeking an experienced Female Millwright to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical and electrical abilities and the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Ideal candidate will have practical experience in industrial maintenance, fault-finding and machinery repairs, together with a good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright with industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience fault-finding on pneumatic/hydraulic systems and with electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with milling/lathe machines and PLC systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Fault-find on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Work with induction and servo motors.
• Troubleshoot VSDs and interpret electrical schematics.
• Apply basic PLC system knowledge.
• Weld and solder where required.
• Assist with milling and lathe machine maintenance.
• Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Minimise downtime through troubleshooting.
• Assist with installations and maintenance projects.
• Ensure safety and company standards.
• Maintain maintenance records.

Job description

A well-established company is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Female Millwright to join its maintenance team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical and electrical abilities and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in industrial maintenance, fault-finding and machinery repairs, together with a good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Conduct fault-finding on pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Work with induction and servo motors
• Work with and troubleshoot variable speed drives (VSDs)
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics
• Apply basic knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems
• Perform basic welding and soldering where required
• Assist with maintenance and repairs on milling and lathe machines
• Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
• Conduct troubleshooting and repairs to minimise equipment downtime
• Assist with machinery installations, modifications and maintenance projects
• Ensure all maintenance work is performed according to safety and company standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records where required

Requirements

• Qualified Millwright / Trade Tested Millwright
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment
• Basic knowledge of milling and lathe machines
• Fault-finding experience in pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Basic knowledge of PLC systems
• Knowledge of induction and servo motors
• Knowledge of variable speed drives
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics
• Basic welding and soldering skills
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Must be a hands-on problem solver with strong technical abilities
