Job summary
SA Metal Group is seeking a dedicated Mill Controller for our Airport Industria, Cape Town branch. The successful candidate will support the Rolling Mill, oversee machinery, manage maintenance schedules and ensure consistent production performance. A PC-literate individual with strong planning and reporting skills is essential.
The role requires Matric with Maths and Science; Engineering studies are advantageous. Permanent, day/night shifts with overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Matric with Maths & Science required for consideration.
- Engineering studies are advantageous for progression.
- Good communication and planning skills essential.
- PC literacy and ability to operate standard software is required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistently high production levels are achieved.
- Oversee machinery within the department and ensure maintenance is planned.
- Plan and implement cleaning and maintenance schedules on stands.
- Ensure quality control according to company standards.
- Prepare detailed status feedback reports on stands and operations.
- Maintain thorough shift handover and report issues clearly.
