Job description

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. This is a Midcareer Level Position (3+ years experience as a Ladieswear Designer & Merchandiser is essential)
  2. The company is based in Sandton (Johannesburg North).

Essential Requirements:

  • Do you have 3 to 5 years (or more) experience as a Ladieswear Range Developer, Designer and Key Account Manager WITHIN a Fashion Retail or Clothing Manufacturing/Supply company?
  • Does your ladieswear retail accounts include the likes of: Jet, Retailability, TFG, Pick n Pay Clothing, Mr Price Clothing, etc.
  • Do you have a Fashion related Degree or 3 Year National Diploma?

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Liaising and negotiating with customers
  • Liaising and negotiating with overseas factories with regards to product, price, quality and delivery
  • Developing and sourcing of new products
  • Researching local and international trends
  • Possible travelling overseas to attend trade fairs
  • Possible travelling overseas to identify trends and select suitable products if required by the company. Presentations and quotations of new products to clients/buyers.
  • Responsibility for Checking and Signing off all product costings and ensuring company gross profit margins are achieved
  • Signing and Checking customer orders
  • Placing Purchase Orders and Signing Sales Contracts with overseas factories
  • Order Tracking and ensuring on time supplier shipment
  • Ensuring on time customer delivery
  • Analysis of orders with excel spreadsheets and administration of orders from placement to final customer delivery including quality control (sample approval)
  • Management of pre-production samples through to production approval within company policy and procedures
  • Responsibility for recovering and monitoring any claims from factories for any losses incurred due to defective quality or late delivery
  • Control of courier costs for samples within company policy and procedures
  • Quality control specifications

Important Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)

  1. Liaison with buyers/clients and manufacturers
  2. Update on Trend Forecasts & Product Development
  3. Ensure Correct Planning and Costing

Salary Range: +- R26,000 to R36,000 Cost to company per month (please note that salary is dependent on years of relevant product and industry experience, tertiary education, current job level, etc.)
