Job summary

Oliver Karstel Creative Agency (OKCA) is seeking a WordPress website developer to work across our agency websites, Wildfire SEO and client sites. You should be comfortable building and maintaining WordPress websites using WordPress and Elementor.

You will take client requests, clarify requirements, complete the work and verify everything before going live. This full-time, office-based role is in Centurion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with WordPress and Elementor, with portfolio examples.
• Experience configuring WooCommerce products and customer journey checks.
• Ability to build pages that work on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting themes and plugins.
• Understanding backups, staging and testing before going live.
• Clear written English and ability to communicate with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines.
• Availability to work from our Centurion office full-time.

Responsibilities

• Build WordPress websites from theme installation to launch.
• Create and update Elementor pages, templates and responsive layouts.
• Manage existing websites, including content changes, plugin configuration and troubleshooting.
• Set up WooCommerce products and event pages, checking prices, dates, artwork, links and the purchase process.
• Coordinate with clients and designers to obtain artwork.
• Use AI tools to assist with website copy, then edit and verify content.
• Update HTML email templates in Mailchimp, prepare test emails and send campaigns.
• Record work completed and flag requests needing time, approval or costing.

You should already be comfortable building and maintaining websites using WordPress and Elementor. We need someone who can take a client request, clarify what is needed, complete the work and check it before it goes live.

• Communicate with clients about website requests and coordinate with their designers to obtain suitable artwork.

• Record work completed and flag requests that need additional time, approval or costing.

What you need

• Practical experience with WordPress and Elementor, supported by examples of your work.
• Experience configuring WooCommerce products and checking the customer purchase journey.
• The ability to build pages that work properly on mobile, tablet and desktop.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting themes and plugins.
• An understanding of backups, staging and testing before making changes to live websites.
• Clear written English and confidence communicating with clients.
• The ability to manage several requests, meet agreed deadlines and flag problems early.
• Availability to work from our Centurion office full-time.

Around one to two years of relevant experience would be suitable, but the quality of your work matters more than a specific number of years.

Useful additional skills

Graphic design experience is an advantage, particularly creating or adapting website banners and preparing images for web use. Mailchimp, HTML email editing and basic SEO knowledge are also useful. Mailchimp training can be provided.
