Job summary

Remote Recruitment is hiring a Web Designer and WordPress Developer for a UK digital marketing agency, fully remote from South Africa, owning websites from client brief to live launch.

You will build and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor Pro, including WooCommerce e-commerce builds, and implement custom functionality with JetEngine and Advanced Custom Fields. A live portfolio link is required to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' professional experience in web design and WordPress development.
• Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS, responsive design and UI/UX principles.
• Experience with WooCommerce, JetEngine (Crocoblock) and Advanced Custom Fields.
• Practical experience with hosting, DNS and site migrations, plus reliable internet and a quiet workspace.

Responsibilities

• Translate client briefs into modern website concepts and high-quality visual designs with intuitive, responsive UI/UX.
• Build, customise and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor Pro, including WooCommerce e-commerce builds.
• Implement custom functionality with JetEngine (Crocoblock) and Advanced Custom Fields: custom post types, relationships and dynamic loops.
• Handle migrations, hosting and DNS configuration, and keep sites secure, stable and up to date.
• Optimise for speed, performance and SEO best practice during development.

Our client is a growing UK-based digital marketing agency, part of an established group of specialist businesses. They deliver high-performing websites for clients across a wide range of industries and want one person who both designs and builds. You will take full ownership of projects from the initial client brief through to live website launch. Full-time, UK business hours.

Portfolio first. The client reviews every portfolio before reading a CV. Please include a link to a live, up-to-date online portfolio showing websites you designed and built yourself. Applications without a working portfolio link will not be reviewed.

Key responsibilities

What you'll need

• A live online portfolio showing the full project lifecycle, from design concept to launched site, with links to sites you built. Portfolios are reviewed before CVs.
• Minimum three years' professional experience in web design and WordPress development, with advanced Elementor Pro.
• Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS, responsive design and UI/UX principles.
• Experience with WooCommerce, JetEngine (Crocoblock) and Advanced Custom Fields.
• Practical experience with hosting, DNS and site migrations, plus reliable fibre or LTE internet, a working laptop and a quiet, dedicated workspace.

Nice to have

• Figma, Adobe XD or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Basic JavaScript and PHP.
• Previous digital marketing agency experience, or Shopify, Wix or Squarespace.
• Fully remote from South Africa with a UK agency, working UK business hours.
• Paid UK bank holidays and a long-term permanent placement, not project work.
• End-to-end ownership of your own projects, design and build.
