Job description

Company Overview:

We are a dynamic company specializing in innovative process solutions in the water and extractive metallurgy industry. We have an additional position for two process engineers (one mid-level and one senior-level) to join our expanding projects division in Paarl, Western Cape.

Positions Available: Locations:

  • South Africa
  • Europe; Netherlands / Belgium / Germany
  • Australia

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, process design, and project implementation. Water treatment and membrane technologies exposure will be advantageous. The individual will be responsible (or involved in) process design development, leading process design and implementation initiatives, commissioning and optimizing production processes as well as ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering deliverables development – mass balances, equipment sizing, PFD’s, P&IDs, design schedules, design reports, project reports and control philosophies.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining process engineering standards within the company.
  • Engage in design tasks and review processes.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
  • Manage subcontractors, reviewing proposals, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in advanced water treatment and process engineering.
  • Compilation of technical specification for vendor packages.
  • Lead commissioning effort during project execution phase.
  • Assist in the training and knowledge transfer of engineering and projects expertise to company personnel as required. Support of global engineering and projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B-Tech, BSC or BEng chemical or process qualification as a minimum
  • Mid-Level position: 3-6+ years of experience
  • Senior Level position: 10+ years of experience
  • Strong technical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Client-Facing experience with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven project engineering/management abilities.

Advantageous experience:

  • Water treatment and membrane technologies exposure in the mining or wastewater industries.
  • PR.Eng registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
  • Filtration, Ion Exchange, clarification, solids separation experience.
  • Chemical dosing and handling system design experience.
  • Hydro-metallurgy experience.
