The MW PROJECT MANAGER will oversee the quality of microwave installations, guide the subcontractor team in resolving installation issues, and ensure all documentation is completed and submitted in compliance with the approval process.
He/she will liaise with customers, resolve queries, address problems with installations and equipment, arrange for quality control and sign off by the customer on each installation or repair project.
Responsibilities:
Review the quality of microwave installation pictures and guide the subcontractor or MW installation or recovery team in resolving installation issues and gaining approval.
Prepare and compile documents based on the installation pictures and finalize the documentation for microwave builds.
Submit completed documents to the company system and track the approval process.
Assist accounts department with invoicing.
Keep management informed of progress on projects and any other relevant project information.
Keep customers informed on progress.
Liaise with stores regarding equipment.
Ensure that Field MW technicians adhere to company safety regulations and return unused equipment to stores.
Ensure that field technicians complete all documentation relevant to the specific projects.
Requirements:
Proven experience in microwave project delivery, customer liaison, and problem-solving with familiarity in the installation, equipment recovery, and commissioning process.
Experience with various MW equipment.
Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client engagement.
A technical qualification relevant to MW transmission and communications would be extremely valuable.
Knowledge of MW technology generally and of the major customers in South Africa is very beneficial.
Management of teams and enforcing rules.
Knowledge of OHS Act relevant to MW communications and installations.
MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL ON BUSINESS INTO REMOTE AREAS.
