Job summary

Naxcfi in Johannesburg, South Africa is seeking a Microwave Technical Support Engineer for a 3- to 6-month renewable contract. You will lead deployment, commissioning, integration and fault resolution of microwave transmission networks, with on-site duties and 24/7 on-call support.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in telecom transmission, strong skills in link budgeting, RSL, ACM, XPIC, Ethernet/IP, VLAN, QoS, and timing protocols, plus vendor experience with ZTE, Ericsson, Huawei, or Ceragon.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline.
3–5 years of telecom transmission and microwave engineering experience.
Experience with E-band (80 GHz) microwave systems.
On-site residency in Johannesburg, South Africa with 24/7 on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

Deploy, commission, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain microwave transmission systems.
Analyze and optimize link budgets, RSL, ACM, and XPIC.
Configure Ethernet/IP, VLAN, QoS, SyncE, and PTP timing protocols.
Monitor performance via NMS/EMS and perform RCA.
Provide 24/7 on-call support for mission-critical networks.
Collaborate with field ops, planners, and client engineering teams.
Maintain transmission inventories and incident logs.
