Metering Technician - Electrical

R 22000 - R 25000 Monthly Basic Salary (Company Car, Petrol, Cell Phone Allowance, Company Pension)

Our client is currently looking for an experienced technician/electrician to install, maintain, and support our prepaid and conventional electrical meters. The ideal candidate should be able to work equally well alone or in a team and be an inventive problem solver capable of working through technical challenges. The technician will also be required to work with water meters. Education and Experience

• Qualified electrician (competent person as per OSH Act), or minimum N5 / T3.
• Grade 12 certificate.
• Additional electrical qualifications (meter training course, wiremen’s license).
• Code 08 driver’s license.
• Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Metering experience: Conventional, Prepaid, single phase, poly phase, direct connect, CT connect, SPU and LPU. Common metering products include Landis & Gyr, Itron, Conlog, etc. Experience with conventional and prepaid water meters is essential.
• LPU metering, communication, programming, and testing.
• Revenue protection, meter auditing.
• Meter accuracy verification testing.
• Load recording experience.
