Hire Resolve is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for its Services and Development division. The role focuses on developing metallurgical processes, providing technical support, and delivering analyses and reports to support plant operations.

The candidate should have a BSc or BEng in Metallurgy with 6–8 years of relevant experience, including knowledge of steel/stainless steel products and smelting/refining. Strong analytical skills and the ability to mentor juniors are essential.

Metallurgical Engineer - Services and Development

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a talented and experienced Metallurgical Engineer to join our client's team in the Services and Development department. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the development of metallurgical processes and services.

Responsibilities:

• Operation of metallurgical microscopes, image analysis software, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint software, plant software e.g. P6, Supervisory.
• Designing testing programmes.
• Technical writing, analysis and interpretation of metallurgical test results and relating to plant and/or customer processing and operation.
• Data-base systems are used to gather plant data to assist in investigations.
• Computer skills are required to analyse data and to compile reports.
• Analytical and interpretive skills required to determine causes of process or end use problems, project planning.
• Provide technical support in the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of metallurgical processes.
• Conduct research and development activities to improve metallurgical performance.
• Analyze and interpret metallurgical data.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in metallurgical engineering.

Requirements:

• BSc or B Eng. in Metallurgy with minimum of 6 - 8 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of steel/stainless steel product and/or Smelting/Refining of other materials.
• Working experience in heavy/large manufacturing processes related to Steel manufacturing, quality assurance and control, project management.
• Experience with POLC principles and QCDSM.
• Experience in process optimization and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in using metallurgical software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Salary: 850K - 900K
