Mergers & Acquisitions Transaction Relationship Manager

As part of the Mergers & Acquisitions ("M&A") team, this critical role is responsible for high-quality B2B account and business development activities, including research, identification, screening, and assessment of M&A opportunities in assigned vertical software markets.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Building Acquisition Pipeline (Majority 80%)
  • Build a robust pipeline of companies in Africa and globally for potential acquisitions, sourcing mid-market software businesses that meet our criteria.
  • Develop long-term relationships with software business owners and operators worldwide, moving them through the M&A process.
  • Enhance the company's market recognition as the preferred acquirer by creatively identifying suitable businesses, articulating our value proposition, and maintaining top-of-mind awareness.
  • Generate high volumes of meaningful interactions via calls, meetings, conferences, and tradeshows, creating lasting impressions and engaging in-depth conversations.
  • Gather quality information through strategic Q&A and conduct business assessments.
  • Nurture leads over time, advancing prospects through the pipeline.
  • Lead and monitor events, webinars, and roadshows.
  • Leverage social media and sales tools to generate leads and develop communication channels.
  • Identify, connect, and maintain contact with high-level business prospects throughout the year.
  • Demonstrate creativity, persistence, and credibility when engaging with owners and C-Suite executives.
  • Analyze and assess acquisition targets based on company criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Development Executive to identify promising prospects.
  • Maintain records in CRM and report on KPIs regularly.
