Salary : R20, per month + bonus & uncapped commission (OTE R32,+)

Location : Office-based, Cresta, Johannesburg

Hours : Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 UK time (no weekends)

About the Role

We're looking for a Merchant Onboarding Manager to join our growing team. This is a dynamic and hands-on role where you'll take ownership of the end-to-end onboarding process for UK-based businesses signing up to our payment solutions. In addition to managing day-to-day onboarding activities, you'll be responsible for leading a small team, reporting directly to the director team, and managing external relationships with our partners and acquirers.

You'll need a strong background in data administration and client communication, ideally within payments, banking, or financial services, and the confidence to take initiative, streamline processes, and coach others. This role includes a bonus and commission structure, with on-target earnings of around R12, per month - and it's uncapped.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process new merchant applications in the Paynt acquirer portal
  2. Use Zoho CRM to track onboarding progress
  3. Ensure all KYC & KYB documentation is correctly submitted
  4. Communicate with clients to request missing information or signatures
  5. Generate and send merchant agreements
  6. Work closely with our UK sales team to complete applications
  7. Ensure high levels of accuracy and compliance in all onboarding processes
  8. Lead and develop a small onboarding team
  9. Report performance updates to the director team
  10. Manage external partner relationships (e.g., acquirers and third-party service providers)

What We're Looking For

Essential :

  1. Experience in data administration and customer service
  2. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  3. Strong communicator with professional English (verbal and written)
  4. Experience using CRMs (Zoho experience is a plus)
  5. Proven ability to lead or mentor others
  6. Confidence in managing external relationships and providing performance updates to senior stakeholders

Preferred :

  1. Experience in payments onboarding, banking, or financial services
  2. Familiarity with KYC / KYB compliance processes
