Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited in Claremont, Western Cape, is seeking a Merchandiser to uphold merchandising standards and deliver friendly customer service.

You will stock, rotate, label and price products, ensure shelf readiness, assist with stock counts, and maintain planograms while keeping the store neat and compliant with safety rules.

Strong English communication, presentable appearance and reliable transport are valued; prior retail experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Up to 6 months’ retail experience.
• Computer literate – MS Office.
• Willing to work retail hours.
• Advantageous: 1 year retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Restock merchandise to maximize sales.
• Store stock is stored and packed correctly and on time.
• Ensure stock on shelves has not passed sell-by date.
• Maintain full range of products on shelves at all times.
• Rotate stock on a FIFO basis.
• Report low/out-of-stock or damaged stock to management.
• Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s operating standards, store layout and planograms.
• Flatten boxes after unpacking and move to designated area.
• Keep front shop shelves neatly presented with correct labels and pricing.
• Report price discrepancies to management.
• Stay updated on current/new products and maintain merchandising displays.
• Maintain daily store upkeep and stock in storeroom and on shop floor.
• Assist with loading/un-loading of stock.
• Mark items without barcodes clearly.
• Assist with back shopping and training of new staff.
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and resolve stock queries.
• Ensure uniform and badge are worn at all times.
• Minimize losses by careful handling of merchandise.
• Adhere to health & safety rules and Dis-Chem policies.
