Job Description
TFG Design and Manufacturing are forming a new Denim Design & Merchandising Team that will supply the entire group with a local QR opportunity for denim on a very fast lead time, as well as a focus on research and product development. We are seeking a Denim Merchandise Planner to join this team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the buying team, manufacturing, and production planning teams to manage the critical path.
- Manage the financial plan for the D&M design teams, including seasonal and monthly projections and strategies for management meetings.
- Oversee the QR process within the design team, ensuring all parties meet critical path deadlines.
- Manage costing processes, seasonal platforms, and ongoing product engineering alongside designers, understanding pricing and fashion architecture within the retail landscape.
- Work with the team to solve problems daily and develop supportive processes for the business.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric qualification.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (3 years).
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a Merchandise Planner in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong numeracy skills, with an analytical, detailed, and strategic approach.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel (advanced), and PLM/ERP systems.
- Strong business acumen and merchant thinking.
