Job description

Truworths has an opportunity for you to work with our Buying/Planning teams using the latest industry merchandise systems. The individual would be involved in sales forecasting, financial and strategic product management skills to effectively trade product. The role will be based at our Head Office in Cape Town, and would appeal to a skilled performer who enjoys complex problem-solving and is solution-orientated.

Drawing on your well-honed fashion planning skills, your role will be to develop, implement and control all aspects of merchandise planning to ensure the profitability and efficient servicing of our stores. The Planner plays a key role in the execution of product from inception to delivery. The role requires the individual to collaborate with all parts of the business e.g. distribution, store design, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with our fashion Merchandise Buyers and suppliers

• Systems used internationally in conjunction with bespoke in-house systems

• Ensuring that the right mix of merchandise reaches the right stores at the right price, right on time

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3 or more years of experience preferably within a fashion retailer

• Relevant numerical tertiary qualification

• Advantageous systems e.g. Oracle, ProClarity and PLM

• Strong analytical and organisational skills

• Numerical ability

• Systems oriented

• Strong trader instinct

• Willing and open to contributing ideas for the greater success of the business

• Ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment
