A national company specializing in medical equipment and laboratory products seeks to employ a Service Technician for their branch in Pinelands, Cape Town. Please only apply if you have a valid license, your own reliable vehicle, and the relevant experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience as a Service Technician in a scientific or laboratory environment. Experience with repairs of Bio Safety Cabinets or air filter maintenance will be advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Must have a completed Grade 12 / Matric
• Must have a completed Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Diploma / Degree (Non-negotiable)
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Service Technician within a scientific / laboratory environment
• Experience working with Bio Safety Cabinets or air filter maintenance (advantageous)
• Own car and valid driver's license
• High proficiency in computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities of the Technician:

• Installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of all equipment on-site
• Provide professional and friendly customer service
• Fault finding
• Completion of job cards for quotations
• Repairs and servicing of equipment
• Technical backup and support to customers
• Handle guarantee claims and repairs
• Identify sales opportunities and communicate to the sales team
• End-user training and cross-training within the company
• Telephonic technical support
• Correspondence with principals
• Sale and maintenance of SLA agreements
• Cross-border and local travel for repairs and service
• Work overtime as required
• Assist with standby for critical customers
• Maintain all administrative work
• Adhere to management control systems (MCS) requirements
