Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of MSL or medical affairs experience in pharma.
• Deep immunology knowledge and related therapeutic areas.
• Proven ability to engage KOLs and build relationships.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel ~60–70%.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to cover the **Bloemfontein, Free State** region. This strategic role serves as a crucial scientific bridge between the company and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the immunology therapeutic area. You will be responsible for disseminating complex scientific and medical information, engaging in peer-to-peer discussions with healthcare professionals, and gathering insights to inform company strategy. This position requires extensive travel within the **Free State** province and offers a flexible hybrid work model, allowing for effective territory management from a home base and periodic office engagement in **Bloemfontein**.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, researchers, and other healthcare professionals in the field of immunology.
• Deliver accurate, balanced, and scientifically rigorous information on the company's products and areas of research.
• Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals in a compliant manner.
• Identify and report emerging trends, unmet medical needs, and insights from the field to internal medical affairs and R&D teams.
• Support the planning and execution of regional scientific meetings, advisory boards, and investigator-initiated studies.
• Present clinical data and scientific information at medical conferences and symposia.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including clinical development, marketing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure alignment of medical strategies.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with company policies, industry codes, and relevant regulations.
• Gather competitive intelligence related to products and therapeutic areas of interest.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a life science or healthcare-related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an MSL or in a related medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Deep scientific and clinical knowledge of immunology and related therapeutic areas.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with KOLs and build strong professional relationships.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory (approximately 60-70% travel).
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance guidelines relevant to medical affairs activities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote/hybrid setting.
• Proficiency in medical literature review and data interpretation.
