Medical Receptionist - Contract

Our client, a specialist medical practice in Paarl, is seeking the assistance of an experienced Medical Receptionist for a 3-4 month contract basis. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a medical practice.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
2. Optimizes patients' satisfaction, Doctor’s time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
3. Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying Doctor of patient’s arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding Doctor of service delays.
4. Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
5. Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
6. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
7. Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Matric
2. Proven working experience as a medical receptionist
3. Experience in scheduling theatre lists
4. Solid understanding of Vericlaim / Med Edi or a similar programme as well as Microsoft Office
5. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, able to multi-task, flexible, professional

WORKING HOURS

Mondays – Fridays, 08:00 – 17:00
