Job summary

Department of Health at Edenvale Regional Hospital seeks a Medical Practitioner to lead occupational health services, including return-to-work assessments, medical surveillance, trainings and inductions.

The role requires registration with HPCSA as an independent Medical Practitioner; an OHS qualification is an added advantage. You will report to the HR Manager and may attend Pilir committee meetings; closing date 25-09-2026.

Responsibilities

• Must be responsible for OHS related functions, including return to work, medical surveillance, trainings and inductions. Attend OHS meetings and report to HR Manager or delegated official. May advise the office of CEO on OHS matters and participate in Pilir committee meetings.

Duties

• Must be responsible for OHS related functions. Be able to conduct return to work functions, Medical surveillance, Trainings and conduct inductions and orientations. Attend OHS meetings and related gatherings. Work in collaboration with all departments and report directly to HR Manager or delegated official. May have bilaterals with the office of CEO and give advises with relation to OHS matters. Be permanent part of Pilir committee and attend all those meetings
• May be subjected to medical surveillance as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act 5/1993.
