We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Medical Officer – Longevity & Preventative Medicine to join our growing clinical team.
Working alongside our Clinical Lead – Longevity & Preventative Medicine, the successful candidate will provide direct clinical care within the longevity programme, conducting comprehensive health assessments, interpreting diagnostic and biomarker data, identifying health risks, and developing personalised, evidence‑based strategies to support long‑term health and disease prevention.
This role is well suited to a doctor with a strong interest in preventative medicine, cardiometabolic health, healthy ageing, and evidence‑based health optimisation, who would like to practise within an innovative and multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical and preventative health assessments
- Review patients' medical histories, lifestyle factors, family history, and individual health risks
- Interpret blood results, biomarkers, imaging, and other diagnostic investigations
- Identify cardiometabolic and chronic disease risk factors
- Develop personalised preventative health and health optimisation plans
- Provide evidence-based medical recommendations aimed at improving healthspan and reducing future disease risk
- Monitor patient progress and adjust clinical recommendations based on follow‑up assessments and diagnostic findings
- Work closely with the Clinical Lead in implementing established longevity and preventative health protocols
- Collaborate with allied health professionals, including physiotherapists, dieticians, rehabilitation specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Educate and guide patients on preventative health, lifestyle modification, and long‑term health management
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation
- Remain informed on developments in preventative medicine, longevity science, diagnostics, and health optimisation
- Ensure all clinical decisions and interventions remain ethical, evidence‑based, and patient‑centred
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the longevity programme
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- MBChB from an accredited tertiary institution
- Current and active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner
- Relevant post‑qualification clinical experience involving the assessment and management of adult patients
- Experience managing or assessing chronic disease and associated risk factors
- CPD compliant
- Experience within preventative health, lifestyle medicine, rehabilitation, chronic disease management, or a multidisciplinary healthcare environment will be advantageous
Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in:
