Purpose of Position:

To perform routine and stat analyses of samples and maintain analysers / instruments in a Clinical Laboratory

Requirements:

• HPCSA registration as Medical Technologist (Clinical Pathology) (Required)
• National Diploma in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) / BHS MLS (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences) (Required)

Required Experience:

• Experience in pathology laboratory environment
• Knowledge of Ampath QC procedures
• Knowledge of Instrumentation and Methodologies
• Knowledge of Meditech system
• Knowledge of MS Windows
• Knowledge of relevant pathology test procedures
• Knowledge of Ampath Safety, Health and Environment management policy

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
• Perform administration tasks for effective laboratory management
• Perform Quality Control procedures to uphold best practices
• Process routine bench work for specimen processing
• Provide technical support to ensure efficient flow and timely results
• Train laboratory staff for continuous development and education
