MEDICAL DOCTOR / PHYSICIAN - EAST LONDON

A private Physician practice in East London is looking to appoint another Physician. The Physician we seek does not need to be senior, as our current doctor is willing to assist and mentor. We are looking for someone who is compassionate with patients. The current doctor has high work ethics regarding patient treatment and expects the same from this new team member. It is important that patients are treated with care, dignity, and respect.

Job Description:

• Seeing patients in hospitals in the wards (St Dominics, Beacon Bay, East London Private Life Hospital, and Royal Buffalo Hospital).
• Seeing walk-in patients while building your own patient clientele.
• Performing hospital rounds at two hospitals daily, with doctors alternating hospitals.
• Being on call for the Emergency unit every second day (at St Dominics, Beacon Bay Life, and Royal Buffalo Hospital).
• Working every second weekend, including hospital rounds and emergency calls.
• Seeing approximately 30 patients daily, depending on the hospital.
• Work hours are flexible due to being on call, roughly 160-180 hours per month.
• Having your own Medical Protection for private practice is required; the practice will reimburse or pay for it if a 1-year contract is signed.
• It is crucial to always answer the phone while on call; switching off after 8 pm is not acceptable, as emergency calls need to be handled promptly.
• This is an initial 1-year contract.
• The current doctor has 30 years of experience but is too busy for one person, hence the need for assistance, as he is fully booked until the end of July.
• The practice mainly specializes in diabetes, HIV, and basic physician work.
