Job summary

Network Finance in Cape Town is seeking a meticulous Medical Coder / Medical Billing Clerk to join a leading healthcare organisation. You will code imaging studies and handle billing transactions with accuracy.

Requires 2 years in medical administration, strong terminology knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and Word. A Medical Coding qualification is advantageous; detail orientation and deadline-driven work are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in medical/healthcare.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Medical Coding qualification or relevant healthcare qualification advantageous.
• Experience in Medical Coding, Radiology, Medical Billing, Clinical Administration, or RIS environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code diagnostic imaging studies.
• Process medical billing transactions and ensure timely month-end completion.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and queries.
• Conduct data integrity and billing accuracy checks.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Operational teams.
• Maintain accurate patient and billing records.
• Support process improvement initiatives within the billing function.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare and billing standards.
