Job summary

Network Finance in Cape Town is seeking a Medical Coder / Medical Billing Clerk to join a reputable healthcare organisation. The role focuses on accurate coding of diagnostic imaging studies, processing billing transactions, and maintaining billing records with diligence.

The ideal candidate has Matric, at least 2 years in healthcare, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. Proficiency in Excel and Word is preferred, with a Medical Coding qualification viewed favourably.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 is required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in medical/healthcare sector.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code diagnostic imaging studies in accordance with industry guidelines.
• Process medical billing transactions and ensure timely month-end completion.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and queries.
• Conduct data integrity and billing accuracy checks.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Operational teams.
• Maintain accurate patient and billing records.
• Support process improvement initiatives within the billing function.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare and billing standards.
