Overview :

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to promote and sell medical microscopes to dentists and plastic / reconstructive surgeons across South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the medical industry, a proven track record in sales, and the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

Sales & Business Development

  • Promote and sell the company's medical microscope range to target markets.
  • Identify and cold call potential customers to generate leads.
  • Schedule and conduct sales appointments and product demonstrations.
  • Drive market penetration and grow market share within the territory.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations and customer requests.
  • Submit weekly activity planners and reports to the Director.

Marketing & Strategic Support

  • Support marketing initiatives including conferences, congresses, educational events, and customer workshops.
  • Assist in implementing strategic and tactical marketing plans.
  • Evaluate competitor products and market activities to support sales strategies.
  • Promote the company's full product offering in all interactions.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build a network of industry stakeholders including dentists, surgeons, hospitals, associations, and key opinion leaders.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends, customer needs, and opportunities.
  • Attend regular appointments with existing and potential clients.
  • Reporting & Administration

  • Submit accurate monthly sales and marketing reports before the 5th of each month.
  • Ensure timely submission of expense claims with proper cost allocation.
  • Maintain all administrative duties related to sales and marketing activities.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulatory standards, SOPs, and the Company Code of Business Ethics.
  • Minimum Requirements :

    Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
  • A tertiary qualification in sales, business, marketing, or healthcare is advantageous.
  • Any qualification in medical marketing or management will be a strong advantage.
  • Experience

  • Proven sales experience is required.
  • Experience in the medical or healthcare industry (e.g., doctor detailing, medical device sales) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental and / or surgical customer segments will be advantageous.
  • Clinical knowledge and existing customer relationships are a plus.
  • Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook - minimum intermediate level).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret customer needs and identify solutions.

  • This is a commission-based opportunity rather than a salaried position. That said, the commission structure offers excellent earning potential for a motivated representative.
