SME South Africa - Consultative Media Sales Executive

SME South Africa, the country's number one online publication for entrepreneurs, is looking for a consultative media sales executive to sell customized online advertising solutions and sponsorship opportunities to leading B2B brands looking to target our SME audience.

We seek a skilled sales professional who can cultivate long-term relationships with advertisers for a B2B publication.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Strong cold call phone prospecting, presentation, and closing skills.
  2. Make a high volume of outbound sales calls daily.
  3. Schedule a minimum of six business meetings per week.
  4. Conduct research for relevant contacts/companies fitting the advertiser profile using a structured sales process that includes lead qualification, initial contact, and acquisition through sales presentations, bespoke proposals, and contract negotiations.
  5. Develop long-term client relationships based on strategic planning and a systematic approach, creating a solid base for key account management.
  6. Collaborate with the editorial and operation teams on joint efforts, deliverables, key deals, and partner communication.
  7. Utilize the CRM system to track efforts, update contact details, and create accurate sales projections.
  8. Provide weekly reports to the publisher on sales revenue and pipeline activity.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  1. Five-plus years of media sales experience in the B2B/digital/print media industry with a proven track record in achieving aggressive sales targets in a similar environment.
  2. Online advertising sales experience is advantageous.
  3. Professional and persuasive telephone manner.
  4. Effective organization and time management skills.
  5. Strong listening and presentation skills.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both in person and in writing.
  7. Highly motivated and service-oriented with the ability to inspire people and strong networking skills.
