Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in media relations or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape in South Africa.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Proven ability to build and nurture media relationships.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and build relationships with key media contacts relevant to the industry.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials.
• Monitor media coverage and report on results, identifying trends and opportunities.
• Respond to media inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate interviews and media events for company spokespersons.
