MECHANICAL / MECHATRONIC ENGINEER

Location: Centurion

Salary: Negotiable

Our client, a well-established international Defense Industry company, is seeking a Design Engineer to fill a critical role within their team.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in weapon development and production, utilizing CAD (SolidWorks) and working on existing projects while taking ownership of assigned tasks. The role also involves project management responsibilities, ensuring smooth execution and collaboration across teams.

Requirements:
  • Grade 12, 85% Pass Rate (Non-Negotiable) – Please send Certificate with CV
  • BEng or BSc Degree in Engineering (Mechanical OR Mechatronics) – (Please submit with CV)
  • 2+ Years of experience required
  • Proficiency in applications / computer programmes such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA

Preferred: Simulation software (MSC One, Ansys); Sound knowledge of design and implementation; Own transport; Willing to travel internationally.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings for weapons and their components.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
  • Create 2D and 3D CAD models and technical schematics using CAD software.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation, including assembly instructions, parts lists, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all designs meet quality standards and are completed within project timelines.
  • Perform design analysis, including tolerance checks, stress analysis, and material selection.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations to support project development.
