Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support a manufacturing facility in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and calibration of plant machinery, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has practical mechanical expertise, the ability to read drawings, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• National Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing/industrial plant environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including gears, bearings, pumps, motors, and conveyors.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical breakdowns promptly and effectively.
• Install, test, and commission new mechanical equipment as required.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Assist in the maintenance and calibration of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and labor hours.
• Work collaboratively with production teams and other maintenance staff.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West .
