Hours: 38 Hours Monday- Friday 7:30 am-3:36pm
Salary: Offering up to £37,680 per annum depending on your level of experience plus Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

About the role:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Coppermills Water Treatment Site. As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our water treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical Technician:

  • Investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
  • Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
  • Work on various equipment including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and associated control gear.
  • Complete statutory checks as required.
  • Always work safely and comply with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.

What you should bring to the role:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification.
  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Be a time-served apprentice with considerable experience in Mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety procedures are essential.

  • Be proactive in recommending improvements.
  • Be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
