Qualifications

  • Experience of 3 years in supervisory roles in manufacturing.

About the Company

The company is the second largest producer of polymer-based mill liners, which are critical components in driving efficiency and lowering cost per ton of operation. It has manufacturing facilities in India, South Africa, Australia and Chile, and exports its products and solutions to over 70 countries.

About the Role

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the placement of selected moulds, the resolving of production problems and the supervision of the production activities of the team manufacturing and finishing of rubber mouldings in consultation with the Senior Foreman.

Key Responsibilities

Discuss work programmed for shift with the Senior Foreman at the commencement of each shift.
Place the selected moulds for the production run and ensure that each operator understands his work for the shift.
Check that moulds and tools are in good condition.
Ensure that the material needed for each job is available.
Check that all the correct Press Cards are at the presses and that each operator completes the production report.
Record any unresolved production difficulty in your shift report to the Senior Foreman.
Complete all relevant SAP entries.
Ensure that all containers are correctly loaded for each shift as required.
Resolve any issues regarding compound stock and liaise with the materials handler.
When working day shift ensure all material needed for night shift is present.
Complete all relevant SAP entries.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and Training

Grade 12 with Maths
Any Mechanical qualifications or similar qualification would be an added advantage.
Thorough knowledge of rubber Moulding procedures
Supervisory and labour relations skills
Knowledge of disciplinary procedures
Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage

Experience

Operating Presses in Rubber Manufacturing environment 2 Years
Supervisory responsibilities in a Manufacturing environment 3 Years

Working Hours:
46 hours in a 6 day period
