Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Service Engineer for the Port Elizabeth area.

POSITION INFO :

Educational & Training Requirements :

• Diploma in and / or trade tested Mechanical Fitter
• A certificate or diploma in supervisory management and / or a proven track record in a similar position

Experience Required :

• A minimum of 5 years in a similar position
• Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience
• Must be able to read CAD drawings

Job Requirements & Responsibilities :

• To maintain the plant and ensure that uptime is at a required standard
• Control Maintenance costs according to the budget
• Purchasing of Spares and Equipment
• Manage projects
• Liaison with suppliers
• Implementation of all Safety aspects within the Plant
• Investigate and make recommendations with regard to improved performance of plant and machinery
• Must be strong on decision making and problem solving, Finding ways to improve efficiency of an operation
• Manage artisans with regards to performance, discipline etc.
• Training and development of staff
• Stand in for the Plant Engineer in his absence when required
• Dealing with all Engineering aspects within department, e.g. planned, preventative, breakdown maintenance and stock levels of spare parts.
