Proposals Engineer

Join a leading EPC contractor that specializes in providing engineered solutions in the water and wastewater treatment industry as a Proposals Engineer based in Riversands (Gauteng).

As the Proposals Engineer, you will be responsible for executing sales and process engineering services as required by our client's projects within agreed constraints of time, cost, and quality.

National and international travel will be required for this position.

This will be a permanent opportunity with a three-month probation period.

Prior working experience in Sales and water treatment is required. Requirements: Graduate BEng or BSC or BTech (Mechanical Engineer). Sales Experience and Process Engineering working experience will be beneficial. Tender submission experience and dealing with quotes will be beneficial. Valid Driver's License and own vehicle. Valid Passport. Willing to travel nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities include:

1. Scheduling and preparing for Go / No Go meetings.
2. Executing process engineering and design for project tenders.
3. Interpreting and implementing client requirements and specifications.
4. Proposing original and cost-effective solutions.
5. Preparing Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
6. Preparing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with the drawing office.
7. Preparing General Arrangement Drawings (GAs) with the drawing office.
8. Performing design calculations and mass balances.
9. Compiling equipment schedules.
10. Preparing Requests for Quotations.
11. Setting up supplier quotation evaluation criteria and completing evaluations.
12. Communicating with suppliers regarding technical requirements.
13. Compiling internal cost sheets.
14. Preparing technical and commercial tender documentation.
15. Updating Pipedrive regularly.
16. Assisting with NEWGen tasks and costing.
17. Compiling Operation and Maintenance (O&M) proposals.
18. Addressing technical and commercial clarifications during bid evaluations and negotiations.
19. Arranging project kick-off meetings and tender handovers.
20. Representing the company during site visits and client meetings when required.
21. Assisting with marketing tasks including attending exhibitions.
22. Performing any other work-related tasks assigned by the line manager or nominated representative.
