You will lead projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with production and maintenance teams while developing P&IDs, layouts and specifications to achieve measurable performance improvements.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in industrial process engineering, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Nelspruit . This role focuses on optimizing existing mechanical processes, improving efficiency, and implementing new technologies within their manufacturing facilities. You will be instrumental in identifying areas for improvement, designing and implementing solutions, and managing projects from conception to completion. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mechanical processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Design and develop mechanical solutions for process optimization, including equipment upgrades, system modifications, and automation integration.
• Manage projects related to process improvements, from planning and budgeting to execution and commissioning.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless implementation of changes.
• Develop technical specifications, P&IDs, and equipment layouts for new process installations or modifications.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, ensuring they meet desired efficiency and cost targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and project management in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and P&ID creation.
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material handling systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
