Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician for an essential on-site role in Kimberley, South Africa. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical faults, and repair a range of industrial equipment while adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification (Millwright or Mechanical Fitter), 4+ years in industrial maintenance, and strong abilities in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and CMMS usage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance in industrial manufacturing.
• Proficient in diagnostics and repair of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Skilled in welding, fabrication and fitting tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with CMMS and maintaining maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures including motors and gearboxes.
• Conduct welding, fabrication and fitting tasks as required for repairs.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and install new equipment.
• Read blueprints and technical manuals to support maintenance.
• Record maintenance activities, parts used and time spent accurately.
• Coordinate with operations to minimise production impact.

You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a thorough understanding of industrial equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding. You will work closely with the engineering and production departments to ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently, contributing directly to the plant's overall productivity. Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all industrial machinery and equipment.
