Responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance for machinery, diagnosing issues across pumps, motors and plant systems, managing spares, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Millwright required.
• 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques preferred.

About the Role

This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all mechanical systems and equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting production targets. You will be responsible for planning and executing maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment failures, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate possesses strong practical mechanical knowledge, excellent diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability in the industrial heartland of the Paarl region.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute routine and emergency maintenance for all mechanical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures in production machinery, pumps, motors, and associated plant equipment.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification (e.g., Millwright).

• Strong troubleshooting skills for a variety of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with PLC basics and industrial electrical systems is an advantage.
